Bio / Approach
Whether I am throwing on the wheel, sculpting in clay, or painting a picture, I try to move beyond and push my work to the far reaches of my creative self. I consider my work exploratory, and my process is a series of problems that have to be solved until I reach a point where I feel it is ‘done’ and it is time to move on to the next piece. I don’t consider my pieces separate from each other as each is part of my artistic journey.
Figurative art is the study of emotions and the physical manifestations of these emotions. As a figurative artist, I think of the body as a visible expression that materializes the times we are in and what we are going through.
I study nature and humans and their relationships to and with each other. When put together within an exhibition I would consider my work to be figurative tableaux, representing life in a moment in time and space.
