Bio
Xénia began her artistic journey at an early age, cultivating her passion through periods of intense creativity, interspersed with moments of reflection. Her adventure in oil painting began in 1979, when she introduced herself to figurative art, painting landscapes from life and portraits inspired by her own photographs. From 2020, she turned to abstract art, exploring acrylic paint and mixed media.
Although self-taught, Xénia has taken advantage of various workshops over the years to perfect her art. She regularly takes part in activities and exhibitions organized by the associations of which she is a member.
Approach
For Xénia, colors are a true source of life and joy. The subjects of her paintings emerge mainly from her imagination, inviting the viewer to plunge into a unique story with each work.
Her source of inspiration is deeply rooted in nature and its reveries, as well as in human, animal and organic forms, and is expressed in playful works, sometimes imbued with naivety, enriched by a fantastic or surrealist touch.
At present, Xénia is passionate about encaustic, a natural medium that she explores with wonder, discovering new possibilities every day, notably through the addition of gold leaf and particles.
